WILL BE UPDATED REGULARLY DURING AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER AS LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS PROPOSE AND ADOPT THE PROPERTY TAX RATES THAT WILL
DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOU PAY IN PROPERTY TAXES.

The chief appraiser must accept protests filed on properties that are receiving a residential homestead exemption through its website www.ruskcad.org or by email to arb@ruskcad.org. The district will also provide electronic communication regarding these protests to the email address provided by the property owner on the protest form. Please be advised that it is the property owner’s responsibility to provide a valid or updated email address to the district. The duties of the appraisal district include:
The determination of market value of taxable property
The administration of exemptions and special valuations authorized by the local entities and the State of Texas
Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities. Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Pritchard & Abbott, Inc. in Tyler, Texas. Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
